REGLEMENT (NL) – 17de Internationale George van Raemdonckkartoenale Boechout (2026)

De vzw International Humour in Art (IHA), in samenwerking met het Gemeentebestuur van Boechout, de Boechoutse Culturele Raad en Davidsfonds Boechout-Vremde, kondigt met plezier de volgende wedstrijd aan:

17de INTERNATIONALE GEORGE VAN RAEMDONCKKARTOENALE – BOECHOUT, BELGIË

THEMA 2026 — "HAND"

Een ode aan ambacht, vakmanschap en authentiek handgemaakt werk.
Voor deze editie keren we bewust terug naar de oorsprong van het kartoentekenen.

VOLLEDIG ANALOOG

Voor de 17de editie worden uitsluitend originele, met de hand getekende werken aanvaard.
Digitale creaties, digitaal ingekleurde tekeningen, prints of foto's van tekeningen zijn niet toegestaan.

Elke deelnemer voegt verplicht een ondertekende verklaring op eer toe waarin bevestigd wordt dat:

• het werk volledig met de hand werd gemaakt;
• het concept werd ontwikkeld zonder gebruik van artificiële intelligentie (AI);
• de deelnemer de enige auteur van het werk is.

Volgende prijzen zijn bevestigd (onder voorbehoud van wijzigingen):

• € 2.000 — Prijs George van Raemdonck – Gemeentebestuur Boechout
• € 1.000 — Cultuurraad Boechout (o.v.)

• € 300 — IHA
• € 200 — KTHaes (beste deelnemer 70+)
• € 150 — Davidsfonds Boechout-Vremde (beste Vlaamse inzending) (o.v.)

Aantal werken

Maximum 10 originele werken per deelnemer.

Formaat & materiaal

• Klein formaat, zoals briefkaart- of postkaartformaat
  (A6 / 10 × 15 cm of US / 21 × 10 cm)
• Op kwalitatief, stevig papier
• Niet gevouwen, geen passe-partout, geen opkleefwerk
• Geen onderschriften in of onder de tekening

Gegevens op de achterzijde van elk werk

• Naam en voornaam
• Volledig postadres
• E-mailadres
• Telefoonnummer
• Geboortedatum
• Titel van het werk (optioneel)

Bij te voegen documenten

• Verklaring op eer (verplicht, met handtekening)
• Een contactformulier met persoonlijke gegevens (vrije vorm toegestaan)

TECHNIEK

• Vrije handgetekende techniek: potlood, pen, inkt, houtskool, verf, mixed media, enz.
• Zwart-wit of kleur is toegestaan
• Geen digitale technieken, geen digitale inkleuring, geen prints

De ingezonden werken moeten origineel en met de hand getekend zijn; dit is een essentiële voorwaarde.

SELECTIE EN JURY

De jury selecteert uit alle ingezonden werken een aantal tekeningen voor:

• de tentoonstelling
• de catalogus
• de prijzen

De beslissingen van de jury zijn definitief en niet betwistbaar.

TENTOONSTELLING

De tentoonstelling en prijsuitreiking vinden plaats in het najaar van 2026 in:

De exacte data worden tijdig bekendgemaakt via www.boechout.be en www.iha.be.

Geselecteerde werken kunnen nadien deel uitmaken van reizende tentoonstellingen in binnen- en buitenland.

CATALOGUS

Alle geselecteerde kunstenaars ontvangen een digitale catalogus (PDF).

Deelnemers die geselecteerd zijn én aanwezig zijn op de opening, ontvangen een gratis gedrukte catalogus.

TERUGZENDING VAN WERKEN

Niet-geselecteerde werken worden enkel op uitdrukkelijk verzoek van de deelnemer teruggestuurd.

Bekroonde werken worden eigendom van IHA vzw.

De organisatie is niet aansprakelijk voor verlies of beschadiging tijdens de terugzending.

RESULTATEN

De resultaten worden gepubliceerd op www.iha.be.

Prijswinnaars worden persoonlijk verwittigd per e-mail of telefoon.

De jurybeslissingen zijn bindend en niet vatbaar voor discussie.

AUTEURSRECHTEN

Door deel te nemen verlenen kunstenaars aan IHA en de organisatoren toestemming om hun werk te reproduceren voor:

• promotie van de kunstenaar
• promotie van de wedstrijd
• publicatie in catalogi, affiches, pers, website en sociale media

Alle overige auteursrechten blijven eigendom van de kunstenaar.

ALGEMENE VOORWAARDEN

• Ingezonden werken mogen niet eerder bekroond zijn.
• Deelname impliceert de volledige aanvaarding van dit reglement.

REGULATIONS (EN) – 17th International George van Raemdonck Cartoonale Boechout (2026)

The non-profit organisation International Humour in Art (IHA), in cooperation with the Municipal Council of Boechout, the Boechout Cultural Council, and Davidsfonds Boechout-Vremde, is pleased to announce the:

17th INTERNATIONAL GEORGE VAN RAEMDONCK CARTOONALE – BOECHOUT, BELGIUM

THEME 2026 — "HAND"

An ode to craftsmanship, skill, and authentic handmade work.
For this edition, we deliberately return to the origins of cartoon drawing.

FULLY ANALOGUE

For the 17th edition, only original, hand-drawn works will be accepted.
Digital creations, digitally coloured drawings, prints, or photographs of drawings are not permitted.

Each participant must include a signed declaration on honour stating that:

• the work has been created entirely by hand;
• the concept was developed without the use of artificial intelligence (AI);
• the participant is the sole author of the work.

Number of works

A maximum of 10 original works per participant.

Format & material

• Small format, such as postcard size (A6 / 10 × 15 cm or US / 21 × 10 cm)
• On high-quality, sturdy paper
• Not folded, no passe-partout, no mounting
• No captions in or beneath the drawing

Information on the back of each work

• First name and surname
• Full postal address
• Email address
• Telephone number
• Date of birth
• Title of the work (optional)

Documents to be enclosed

• Signed declaration on honour (mandatory)
• A contact form with personal details (free format allowed)

TECHNIQUE

• Any freehand drawing technique: pencil, pen, ink, charcoal, paint, mixed media, etc.
• Black-and-white or colour works are permitted
• No digital techniques, no digital colouring, no prints

All submitted works must be original and hand-drawn; this is an essential condition.

SELECTION AND JURY

The jury will select from all submitted works a number of drawings for:

• the exhibition
• the catalogue
• the awards

The jury's decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

EXHIBITION

The exhibition and award ceremony will take place in autumn 2026 at:

Selected works may subsequently be included in travelling exhibitions in Belgium and abroad.

CATALOGUE

All selected artists will receive a digital catalogue (PDF).

Artists who are selected and attend the opening will receive a free printed catalogue.

RETURN OF WORKS

Non-selected works will only be returned upon explicit request by the participant.

Award-winning works become the property of IHA vzw.

The organisation cannot be held liable for loss or damage during return shipping.

RESULTS

The results will be published on www.iha.be.

Prize winners will be notified personally by email or telephone.

Jury decisions are binding and not open to discussion.

COPYRIGHT

By participating, artists grant IHA and the organisers permission to reproduce their work for:

• promotion of the artist
• promotion of the competition
• publication in catalogues, posters, press, websites, and social media

All other copyright remains the exclusive property of the artist.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

• Submitted works must not have been previously awarded.
• Participation implies full acceptance of these regulations.

L'association sans but lucratif International Humour in Art (IHA), en collaboration avec la Commune de Boechout, le Conseil culturel de Boechout et Davidsfonds Boechout-Vremde, a le plaisir d'annoncer la :

17e CARTOONALE INTERNATIONALE GEORGE VAN RAEMDONCK – BOECHOUT, BELGIQUE

THÈME 2026 — « LA MAIN »

Une ode au savoir-faire, à l'artisanat et au travail authentiquement réalisé à la main.
Pour cette édition, nous revenons volontairement aux origines du dessin de cartoon.

ENTIÈREMENT ANALOGIQUE

Pour la 17e édition, seules les œuvres originales dessinées à la main sont acceptées.
Les créations numériques, dessins colorisés numériquement, impressions ou photographies de dessins sont strictement interdites.

Chaque participant doit obligatoirement joindre une déclaration sur l'honneur signée attestant que :

• l'œuvre a été réalisée entièrement à la main ;
• le concept a été développé sans recours à l'intelligence artificielle (IA) ;
• le participant est l'auteur unique de l'œuvre.

TECHNIQUE

• Toute technique de dessin manuel : crayon, stylo, encre, fusain, peinture, techniques mixtes…
• Noir et blanc ou couleur autorisés
• Aucune technique numérique, aucune coloration numérique, aucune impression

Les œuvres doivent impérativement être originales et dessinées à la main ; il s'agit d'une condition essentielle.

SÉLECTION ET JURY

Le jury sélectionnera, parmi toutes les œuvres reçues, un certain nombre de dessins pour :

• l'exposition
• le catalogue
• les prix

Les décisions du jury sont définitives et sans appel.

EXPOSITION

L'exposition et la remise des prix auront lieu à l'automne 2026, à :

Les œuvres sélectionnées pourront ultérieurement être présentées dans des expositions itinérantes en Belgique et à l'étranger.

CATALOGUE

Tous les artistes sélectionnés recevront un catalogue numérique (PDF).

Les artistes sélectionnés présents lors du vernissage recevront gratuitement un catalogue imprimé.

RETOUR DES ŒUVRES

Les œuvres non sélectionnées ne seront retournées que sur demande explicite du participant.

Les œuvres primées deviennent la propriété de l'asbl IHA.

L'organisation décline toute responsabilité en cas de perte ou de détérioration lors du retour des œuvres.

RÉSULTATS

Les résultats seront publiés sur www.iha.be.

Les lauréats seront informés personnellement par e-mail ou par téléphone.

Les décisions du jury sont contraignantes et non contestables.

DROITS D'AUTEUR

En participant, les artistes accordent à IHA et aux organisateurs l'autorisation de reproduire leurs œuvres pour :

• la promotion de l'artiste
• la promotion du concours
• la publication dans des catalogues, affiches, la presse, sur les sites web et les réseaux sociaux

Tous les autres droits d'auteur restent la propriété exclusive de l'artiste.

• Les œuvres soumises ne peuvent pas avoir été primées auparavant.
